Mehri Ansari

Mehri Ansari, SE, LEED AP, is the Managing Principal and lead Design Engineer of the firm. Mehri brings to each assignment over 30 years of experience in structural design, seismic evaluation and retrofit, remodeling, peer review, structural evaluation, and condition assessment of a variety of structures. Her work experience is across the full breadth of structural engineering from design of New facilities, including hospitals and waterfront facilities, to seismic retrofit of existing structures, including historic structures.

A native of Iran, Mehri came to the United States over 40 years ago.  After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from UC Berkeley, She went back to Iran and worked there for two years.  Having felt the impact of irresponsible policy and regulation on the environment there, Mehri came back to California and pursued her graduate studies in Environmental Management.  To day she combines her awareness of environmental safety with her knowledge of structural engineering in her projects.

Prior to establishing ASE, Mehri was an associate and project manager with Structural Engineering leader firm of Rutherford & Chekene, and worked on major projects such as AT&T Park, Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, San Joaquin County Hospital, and seismic retrofit of many historic buildings such as Standford University’s Language Corner and First Unitarian Church of Oakland.

Mehri’s recent works at ASE include Laguna Honda Hospital Replacement project, Bayview Public Library, various projects for Mills College, numerous projects for Kaiser Permanente and San Francisco General Hospital.
